Join us for our very first day long In-person retreat on Sunday November 2nd from 11-4 held at Community Care Apothecary, 52 Main St. in downtown Florence, MA.
Throughout our time together we'll:
- build a multicultural community ancestor altar with photos of your beloved dead (of blood or spirit), a picture of your ancestral homeland and/or any other culturally significant trinkets.
- share stories around the table over pots of Wildflowers of Diaspora Tea.
- enjoy a traditional Armenian meal, Ghapama (gf and vegetarian). It's so special to my ancestors it even has a banger of a folksong dedicated to it! See registration form for allergens.
- discuss practical plant practices and rituals for opening points of ancestral connection and accessing the magic that lives deep in your roots. (even when the severed threads and pain of it all make it feel impossible)
- experience a guided meditation to meet an ancestral plant ally.
- co-create a flower essence to take home with you as a touchstone to come back to long after the retreat has ended.
Cost of the ticket includes:
- printed notes from the workshop portions of the day
- writing/meditation prompts
- all materials needed to make a custom flower essence to continue working with at home
- a gift bag full of deeply nourishing surprises
Lunch, snacks and tea will be provided.
$250 Early Bird pricing ends 10/15! after that the full ticket price will be $300.

Hosted by: Reede Haroian LaRose (they/them) - resident queer autistic herb nerd, garden witch, herbalist & shopkeeper of Community Care Apothecary. They are descended from Armenian Genocide Survivors on one side, and was raised by a feisty little old French Canadian Memere on the other. Growing up disconnected from the SWANA half of their roots and long estranged from family of origin, finding ways to connect with the magic of my their ancestors while sifting through mountains of generation trauma to find the nuggets of gold buried deep within has been a lifelong winding path.
Accessibility: The entrance to the store is on street level and there are no steps involved. We have a teeny tiny bathroom that is not wheelchair accessible, however we have unrestricted access to the ADA facilities in the neighboring building across the parking lot from us. This is a neurodiveregent designed space, with no florescent lights. We kindly ask that you arrive fragrance free. With consideration of covid, we have an air purifier that will be running throughout the class while indoors, along with fresh air ventilation as weather permits.
