For the second workshop in our mutual aid workshop series, we'll be discussing herbal practices to sustain ourselves, our communities and our movements. This workshop was originally put together for Weaving Ecosystems of Anti-carceral Care in Holyoke last year, and I intend to carry the magic from that incredible convening forward.
Throughout our lifetime, so many of us engaged in care work, community organizing, activism, peer support, non-profit work and have already been through major cycles of burnout, activation, deep fatigue and chronic pain and and and while doing the very real work of surviving....Staying engaged to meet the moment while navigating all that we currently are on a personal and collective level, along with everything has come before is quite honestly just too much. And yet, we show up. we resist. we organize. we share what we have and tend to what is in front of us. Let's figure it out together.
During the course of our time together we'll go over 10+ of Reede's favorite herbs to
- support the nervous system (rest & digest)
- nourish the adrenals during burnout and fatigue
- clear the blood of excess stress hormones (such as cortisol and adrenaline)
- fortify our bodies with tonic herbs
- get better quality sleep
- stay present in your body so we are better resourced to meet the needs of the moment
- tend to both the emotional and physical heart
Part herb share, part community discussion, part ask an herbalist- you are encouraged to be an active participant in this class. Thank goodness we have the plants and each other to see our way through.
Join Reede & community for this live online on Friday February 6th from 7-8:30pm EST. The workshop will be recorded and sent out to folks who are not able to make it to the live class. (although, please do consider joining in on the discussions if you are able to make it!)
This workshop is being held as a love offering of mutual aid so no fee is required to attend. Donations are welcome, but not necessary to register. Please choose whatever feels right for you at checkout.
