Welcome to Deep in the Roots: the medicine and magic of root season with Reede! After the first frost of autumn, when the parts of the plants that we can see start to die back for the season, their energy is stored deep down in their roots. No longer producing shiny ew leaves, flowers and fruit, they draw their vital energy down down down into the earth and welcome the rest that comes during the dark part of the year.
Herbalist and farmers alike wait to harvest roots until after the frost, because that's when the roots are full of vitality!
In this live online workshop we'll discuss the medicinal properties and herbal actions of many roots (such as dandelion, burdock, yellow dock, elecampane, black cohosh, ashwagandha, astragalus and more) for winter wellness as well as reflect on the lessons that these wise roots can teach us when we follow their lead and go within. and of course it wouldn't be a workshop with Reede without including some story sharing, wisdom gathered from the plants, while weaving it all back to the ancestral connections of our armmad (roots).
