We are so excited to host our first annual Armenian New Year ✨Navasard✨ celebration at the apothecary.
Since we opened almost two years ago, I’ve connected with a few Armenians in Western MA, and it is a treat every time!! Imagine finding not one, not two, but like 5 fellow LGBTQ local Armenians - what a gift💕
So without further ado, it is with great joy that we share this invitation of Armenian connection, traditional herbal teas, poetry, music, folk art and storytelling.
🌿sample the herbals from our Remembering Home bundle
🧿take home some gorgeous Armenian zines & art from @entangledrootspress
☕️sip on some traditional herbal teas made with herbs grown high up in the mountains of Dilijan
📖take in some nourishing poetry for the Armenian spirit (and feel free to bring some favorites to share!)
🧵swoon over some stunning antique plant dyed Armenian carpets & fine needle lace
🏔️hear a few stories about my time in Armenia this summer and share a few laughs, perhaps a tear or 2 and the last little bit of t’tu lavash I brought back.
🌀This gathering is one of the many threads of lost connection being woven into a practice of remembrance. If you’re anything like me and have ever wondered if you’re “Armenian enough” to come because you’re part Armenian, don’t speak the language, or didn’t grow up in large diasporan communities, you are especially encouraged to attend! All Armenians and non-Armenian friends who wish to join us are welcome.
We will be planning regular queer centered multi-generational Armenian meetups throughout the year as well, and we thought we’d start off with a larger community event to meet, mingle and celebrate moments of togetherness.
Please feel free to share with your Armenian friends, neighbors, coworkers, etc- as events like this are few and far between and are so so special when they happen!
Registration is helpful, but not necessary to attend.
